Build System Engineer

Primary Function

Build engineer responsible for developing, maintaining, and extendeding automated build and test execution infrastructure for open-source robot software system.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain system responsible for nightly automated builds
• Develop and maintain tools to monitor status of the build and make that information available to team members
• Support team in automating execution of tests ranging from check-in level unit tests to long-running integration tests
• Drive selection of appropriate tools and system to accomplish the above tasks (open-source preferred)

Skill / Job Requirements

• Experience with CMake
• Experience interacting with large python systems
• Competent python scripting
• Strong Linux background and systems administration ability
• Experience building and maintaining robust automated systems
• Experience with tools such as buildbot, CruiseControl, gcov, and unit testing frameworks
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with a fast-moving and dynamic software development team
